A broadband PIN diode switch provides fast switching speed and high isolation from 100 MHz to 40 GHz.
Designed for extremely broadband use, model P2T-100M40G-95-T-512-292FF is an absorptive, single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) PIN diode switch with a frequency range of 100 MHz to 40 GHz. It incorporates a transistor-transistor-logic (TTL) compatible driver for control and is a suitable addition to radar, electronic-warfare (EW), and measurement systems. The switch achieves minimum isolation of 95 dB to 18 GHz, 80 dB to 26.5 GHz, and 70 dB to 40 GHz. It suffers typical insertion loss of 4 dB from 0.1 to 18.0 GHz, 5 dB from 18 to 26.5 GHz, and 5.5 dB from 26.5 to 40.0 GHz. The switch can handle CW input power to +20 dBm and includes female 2.92-mm connectors. It is powered by means of 120 mA typical current at +5 VDC and 65 mA typical current at -12 VDC. The typical input/output VSWR is 2.0:1 across the frequency range. The PIN diode switch boasts switching speed of 100 ns or less and measures just 1.0 × 1.0 × 0.5 in. It is designed for operating temperatures of -40 to +85°C.
