The SLC clock synthesizer from Noise XT features stable frequency and low jitter from 2 MHz to 7 GHz. It exhibits a noise floor of -170 dBc/Hz offset 10 MHz from the carrier in a housing measuring just 85 × 110 × 200 mm. The single-clock/dual-clock Universal-Serial-Bus (USB) frequency synthesizer is suitable for driving data converters, for use as a direct-digital synthesizer, and in high-speed serial data links. The SLC also boasts low jitter of 40 fs for a 155-MHz clock. The SLC actually combines a multiple-direct-digital-synthesizer (multiple-DDS) circuit with a phase-lock loop (PLL) to achieve the low-noise, low-jitter performance. It provides a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of better than 135 dB for testing data converters.
